The Flyers showed signs of improved game play tonight, but came up short against the Montreal Canadiens. It was a very well played game by both teams and both goaltenders played exceptional.
Late in the 3rd period, with the Flyers down 1-0 and Mike Richards and Scott Hartnell crashing the net, it appeared that the puck was knocked it. But the officials waived off the goal saying that the Flyers players pushed Montreal goaltender Price into the the net. The replay showed no Flyer player in contact with the goaltender and the puck crossing the goal line. The referees refused to review the play. NHL officiating, once again, proves what a joke it is. NHL officials are there to officiate, not determine the outcome of a game.
Some more bad news for the Flyers. Joffrey Lupul left the game with what the team categorized as a “Lower Body Injury.”
The home and home series continues tomorrow night at the Wachovia Center.
