Trade Deadline Day is here and the deals are happening. With just 2 and half hours left, here is what has happened so far.
After giving the Tampa Bay Lightning a list of teams yesterday, Brad Richards has been dealt to the Dallas Stars today, along with netminder Johan Holmqvist. In exchange, Tampa received goaltender Mike Smith and forwards Jeff Halpern and Jussi Jokinen
This past offseason, the Buffalo Sabres were blasted for not dealing Daniel Briere and Chris Drury at last year’s trade deadline then losing them to free agency. The Sabres have traded defensemen Brian Campbell to the San Jose Sharks after not being able to sign him to a long-term deal.
The Montreal Canadiens traded Cristobal Huet to the Washington Capitals for a draft pick. Carey Price is the new starting goaltender in Montreal. Price is Montreal’s third starting goaltender in 3 years.
