As the Flyers return to form and begin the push toward the playoffs, it appears that the Philadelphia coaching staff has made their decision on who the goaltender will be that will be spearheading that push. Philadelphia continued the march to the playoffs against a New York Islanders team that is on the outside looking in on the playoff picture.

After losing ten straight, losing several players to injuries, and flip-flopping Biron and Nittymaki as starting goaltenders, the Flyers are now riding a three game win streak after today’s win. One of the constants in those three wins, three straight starts by Martin Biron. It looks as though the coaching staff has made up their mind on who the goaltender will be for the Flyers heading down the stretch run and into the playoffs. Biron is playing the way he was earlier in the season.
After a few weeks of rumors that he could be possible trade bait, Jeff Carter is turning it on. Over the past two seasons, Carter has shown to be a very streaky player. However, in the past month, he as solidified his play and has been more consistent. Today, he continued that trend with a goal and forcing the play that resulted in Mike Knuble’s shorthanded goal.
The Flyers have six players with 20 or more goals, which leads the league.
