The Flyers may have the second ranked Power Play in the NHL, but in the past few games it has been very ineffective. Tonight, it looked to be back in form. 3 of the 4 Flyers goals came on the Power Play.

First up for the Flyers were the New York Rangers last night. New York decided to go with backup goaltender Stephen Valiquette, who has been lights out against the Flyers this year. It was a raucous atmosphere at the Wachovia Center even before the game started. The game was a sell out, and there were plenty of Rangers fans in attendance.

Flyers Start Soft, But Turn It On To Beat Thrashers

After the last four games, the operative words have been urgency and effort. In the first minute of the game, the Flyers gave up a goal, and everyone watching the game started thinking, here we go again. Being only a point ahead of Buffalo for 8th place, a win in this game was critical.
