Like with most things, there is the easy road and the hard road. The Flyers have decided to take the hard way to the playoffs. With the loss to the Penguins on Wednesday night the Flyers failed to gain a point and move up in the standings.
Last night, the Washington Capitals beat the Tampa Bay Lightning to move into eight place in the Eastern Conference and one point ahead of the Flyers. The Capitals are 9-1 in their last ten games and play their final game of the season tomorrow at home against the Florida Panthers. The Panthers are currently in eleventh place in the Eastern Conference and are 6-3-1 in their last ten games.
The Flyers have two more games to play. Tonight they face the New Jersey Devils. This season the Flyers are 1-5-1 against the Devils. On Sunday they host the Pittsburgh Penguins for one more game.
