Anyone who knows me knows that: 1) I despise the Pittsburgh Penguins, 2) I have always despised Gary Roberts, no matter what team he plays for, and 3) the title of this post is completely sarcastic.
Watching last night’s Penguins game just furthered my dislike for that team and Roberts. What gets under my skin about Roberts is that he is a sneaky, dirty player. The first Penguins goals was cheap. What is a very obvious interference infraction by Roberts is let go for some reason by the official who is no more than 5 feet away. This creates the opportunity to score.
In the waning minutes of the game and with a 4-0 Shittsburgh lead, Roberts shows how tough he is by hitting one of the Senators from behind and then challenging Chris Neil while being held back by an official. Wow Gary, you are such a tough guy. You can hit a player who doesn’t see you coming and you can challenge someone else when there is no chance the official will let the fight happen. Coward! Just do us all a favor and retire.
By the way, I thought the NHL was cutting down on hits from behind? I thought they were handing out suspensions for such infractions? I guess it all depends on what team you play for.
