Claude Giroux, the Flyers first round draft pick in 2006, was named playoff MVP of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League as a member of the Gatineau Olympiques.
Giroux, 20, recorded 17 goals and 34 assists for 51 points and six penalty minutes in 19 games as Gatineau captured the President Cup Trophy as QMJHL champions. His 51 points and 34 assists led the QMJHL and he set a new team record for most points in a playoff year. He finished tied for second in the league in goals with 17.
It would not be surprising to see Giroux in the Flyers lineup next season.

By the looks of things from the picture of Giroux being presented with the Guy Lafleur Trophy, he is able to grow a better playoff beard than Sidney Crosby’s sad attempt, even though he is younger.
