Not The Start The Penguins Were Hoping For

Red Wings Win Game 1 Of Stanley Cup Finals
Well, after almost a week of waiting, it’s here, the start of the Stanley Cup Finals. After all the hype, talk, and speculation, it’s time to finally drop the puck. For the Penguins and their legions of fans (who were nowhere to be found 15 months ago when the team was about to leave town), this was not the start they were hoping for against the Detroit Red Wings. Pittsburgh goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury stumbled out of the gate, literally. Just watch this, it is utterly hysterical!

That was just the start of a long night for the highly praised juveniles upstarts from Pittsburgh. The much talked about offensive juggernaut was only able to get 19 shots on Detroit’s Chris Osgood, all of which he stopped. Early in the game, it seemed that both teams were feeling each other out. But as the game went on the Red Wings took over and skated all over the Penguins scoring 4 unanswered goals.

Leading up to the finals, there was a glut of completely craptastic fecal matter stuff floating around from Penguins fans. Here’s a sample:
