Those over at Icethetics are saying they received confirmation that the Flyers will debut their new third jersey on Friday, November 28. At that point, they will be one of the last to do so. If you look on the schedule, the Flyers have a Black Friday matinee scheduled against the Carolina Hurricanes at 1:00 PM that day. It looks like they are debuting the new jersey just in time for the holiday shopping season.
The last Flyers third jersey had a unique look and featured an updated Flyers logo. This third jersey a look back and is very much like the road jersey that was worn by the Flyers during the 60s and 70s. The trend with many of the teams this year is that the third jerseys have a retro look and are an homage to the history of the team.
Information about the new third jersey started leaking out earlier this year, when a prototype was displayed at a Flyers Season Ticket Holder Town Hall Meeting.
