Comcast Sportsnet in Philadelphia and TSN are both reporting that Montreal coach Guy Carbonneau has decided to bench goaltender Carey Price in favor of backup Jaroslav Halak for tonight’s game 4. Carbonneau said he would announce the starting goaltender just prior to the start of the game.

In game 3, Price gave up 3 goals to the Philadelphia Flyers in the second period. The Flyers only had 14 shots for the entire game. Price was pulled after the second period. It was the second time he was pulled during the playoffs. It happened once during the first round against the Boston Bruins.

Price earned the starting job in Montreal when Christobal Huet was traded to the Washington Capitals at the trade deadline.
