The Rangers are choke artists just like the Mets. Mike Richards shorthanded goal, during a 5 on 3 Rangers power play, makes him the only NHL player to score 3 career shorthanded goals when down two players. Claude Giroux and Scottie Upshall have been playing well together. I would like to see what Danny Briere could bring to a line with them. Last year it seemed like Rangers backup goaltender Stephen Valiquette was a Flyers killer. I thought he would have started in net yesterday with the Rangers playing the Blues tonight. The Penguins fired Head Coach Michel Therrien yesterday. While he’s a contributing factor to the issues in Pittsburgh, he’s not the root of the problem. I would rather listen to Joe Buck or John Madden call a game than Mike Emrick and Eddie Olczyk. The newest Flyers fan joined us on Thursday night when my nephew was born. His uncle has already gotten him his first Flyers outfit. |

James…I just wanted to write to say “well said.” I just found your blog by google-ing “Why does NHL on NBC suck?” I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE the commentating for NBC too. I also get very aggravated around this time of year when the playoffs are about to start and they still only show 1 game per week…and ALWAYS the pens or caps! This really sucks when (like me) you’re a Blues fan (or any other western conf. team) and they rarely play the caps or pens; therefore, are RARELY on NBC. Any ways…good luck against the pens (and feel blessed that for at least 2 games in the first round they’ll be shown on National TV)
I like Emrick, perhaps because I grew up hearing his voice but I can’t stand Olczyk. Great Blog!
