It’s Official, Jeff Carter To Be A Flyer For The Next Three Years

What has been rumored for about a week now was made official today. The Flyers announced that Jeff Carter signed a $15 million, 3 year contract.

RJ Umberger Dealt To Columbus Blue Jackets

This evening the Flyers sent center RJ Umberger as well as the 119th pick overall to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for the 19th and 67th picks in this year’s draft.

Rumors have been swirling that the Flyers were able to sign Jeff Carter to a 3 year deal at about $5 million a year. The Flyers still have yet to confirm this. If true, that would leave very little under the cap to sign Umberger as well

Rumors Saying That Flyers And Carter Have A Deal

Just a few days ago, the Delaware County Daily Times was discussing how the Flyers and Restricted Free Agent - To Be Jeff Carter were far apart in negotiations. Well, the rumors coming out of Canada are saying that Carter and the Flyers have gotten a deal done.
