The Spectrum To Be Torn Down

It’s official, America’s Showplace, The Spectrum, is coming down after 42 years. The demolition will be scheduled to happen after the upcoming hockey and soccer seasons. Earlier this year, Comcast-Spectacor Chairman Ed Snider and President Peter Luukko announced Philly Live!, a “destination retail, dining and entertainment area adjacent to the Wachovia Center.” At the time, the fate of the Spectrum was said to be undecided, but plans showed it was probably going to be replaced.

2007-08 Season Video Recap

Well, it’s been slow with news from the Flyers lately. Unlike other teams, they aren’t replacing coaches or GMs. But that should all change with Free Agency fast approaching. Today the Flyers posted a video recap of last season. Enjoy.

Not An Anniversary You Want To Celebrate

Flyers fans, and all Philadelphia sports fans for that matter, are left to reflect on a dubious anniversary today. It has been 25 years since one of the 4 major sports teams from the City of Philadelphia last won a championship. That team was the 1983 76ers.
