The Detroit Red Wings picked right back up where they left off in game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals. From the opening face-off to the final buzzer, the Red Wings picked apart the Pittsburgh Penguins every step of the way. It wasn’t until 12 minutes into the first period, on a power play, that the Penguins were able to get their first shot on Detroit netminder Chris Osgood.

For the Penguins and their many, many fans (who were no where to be found 15 months ago when the team was about to leave town) this was not the start they were hoping for against the Detroit Red Wings.

With the Detroit Red Wings soundly beating the Dallas Stars last night, the Pittsburgh Penguins now know who their dance partner will be in the Stanley Cup Finals. This is the first round this year that the Penguins will not have home ice advantage. Here is what the schedule looks like.

In game 4, the Flyers showed some fight and intensity and were able to finally break through the Penguins impressive defense. In the first three games of the series, the Penguins disrupted the Flyers ability to pass and prevented a good deal of traffic from developing in front of goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury. Game [...]

Through the first 3 games of the many of Pittsburgh’s young stars were in the spotlight. After the Penguin’s win in game 3, some of the Penguins players taunted Flyers fans as they came off the ice. And they call these immature clowns professionals.

The Flyers got some good news last night. Following the Flyers 4-2 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Kimmo Timonen updated his injury with the media. Timonen met with his doctor earlier in the day and was cleared to skate today. According to Timonen,
