Dating back more than 10 years, the Philadelphia Flyers have had trouble when it would involve playing the New Jersey Devils. That would be no different this year. So far this year the Flyers have 1 win in 6 games. To make matters worse, Philadelphia hasn’t won in New Jersey in 11 games.

In less than a week, the Philadelphia Flyers have played 3 games against teams from New York, one against the Islanders and two against the Rangers, and have 3 wins.

The Flyers may have the second ranked Power Play in the NHL, but in the past few games it has been very ineffective. Tonight, it looked to be back in form. 3 of the 4 Flyers goals came on the Power Play.

After the last four games, the operative words have been urgency and effort. In the first minute of the game, the Flyers gave up a goal, and everyone watching the game started thinking, here we go again. Being only a point ahead of Buffalo for 8th place, a win in this game was critical.

The Flyers Rangers rivalry is showing no signs of dying anytime soon, especially this season with both teams hunting for a playoff spot. This game had everything you would expect from an Atlantic Division matchup, including 6 goals in the first period, 3 by each team, and both goaltenders getting replaced.
